Theresa is a full-time teacher; on the side, she also makes handmade chain rosaries that she will selling at The SMILE Market's A Picnic of Virtues market.
C: So it’s really like all over the place. Ok so, how do you use your daily routine, as routine it may be, to perfect yourself?
Theresa: So, since I am around children all the time, it’s an incentive to keep me on my toes so that I’m a constant good example for them. One bad thing on my part can lead to many bad things because I have so many children around me learning from my example. So the constant routine of being in a school setting with the children is in itself my means of perfecting myself by being a good example.
To top it off, in the evening after the school day, I go over and examine how the day went, examine what I did wrong, how I could have done it better et cetera, et cetera.
C: I think that’s really cool. I also do an examination of conscience nightly. For me, my routine is so regular, like I have meeting at this time that I have to do every day. So just by living my day out I can almost calculate where I’ll go wrong. I have a way to measure the things that I do wrong because I’m constantly repeating it…
The next day, I can look ahead and see, “Ok what am I gonna do to prevent these things that you know that you’re susceptible to doing?"
