Jay: Undoubtedly, when there’s no system or process in place that can rock your boat, if you will, and overwhelm you… I’m always just as much met with the feeling of being overwhelmed as I am with an overwhelming sense of peace if that makes sense. I think there’s, for me, a lot of balance in just as much as I realize that I have no control, there’s a lot of peace that comes in saying that I have no control…in the sense that having no control irregardless means that I can fixate on the things that I can control rather than the circumstances that I’m unable to lean into.
C: It’s true, because we don’t have control! I feel that! I was going to ask earlier when you were describing having no systems in place, if in your life you find yourself working in a defined schedule?
Jay: I think routine is important. I’m guilty of not adhering to one specific one. I work but I also work remotely so the schedule kind of varies.
But that being said, I do think that there is a lot of importance in having these, for lack of better words, little rituals that not only speak to discipline but also I think they speak to a greater vision for the things I want to cultivate in my life.
